Singer-songwriters aren’t hard to come by these days; from the technicality of Jose Gonzalez and Iron Wine, to the eminent voices of Jason Mraz and Josh Groban, to the simple song writing ability of Frank Turner and Bruno Mars. However, finding artists who manage to combine all of those attributes is no mean feat.
For this reason, I feel that it is my duty to share the name of Karl Toth. Hailing from Lincolnshire, Karl has been writing music for most of his adult life. He gigs regularly playing pubs, weddings, festivals and everything in between. Having played alongside Karl once or twice, I’ve been lucky enough to see his immeasurable talent first hand; his technical ability may be unsurpassed by any other musician that I’ve seen to date and his voice is just memorising.
Check out his YouTube account and see for yourself. He has a plethora of popular covers, one or two of which are worth checking out simply for their innovation and creativity, as well as a couple of originals. Personal favourites include ‘Whistle’ by Flo-Rida and ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’ by Randy Newman.
Karl truly is a talented and hardworking individual and deserves to get as far as those faculties will take him.
